This offseason, the Toronto Maple Leafs have failed to make some big moves, and analysts are already showing their disapproval for the team's upcoming campaign.
If you have been paying attention to the
Toronto Maple Leafs as of late, you know that they have completely struggled with the offseason.
Instead, the team has had to settle for some middle-six and bottom-six players, which isn't exactly making the team very exciting.
Are the Toronto Maple Leafs in trouble?
Now, controversial analyst and reporter Damien Cox is making his opinion on the Maple Leafs crystal clear, and it is going to disappoint some fans out there.
On 'Ladies Talkin Leafs,' Cox noted that he believes the Leafs have not gotten any better. While they are still going to be in the hunt for 100 points, they won't be able to do much else.
I look at the moves they've made and what they appear to be trying to do, and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I still think they're going to have a good hockey team. They will be in that 100-point range again next year.
I just don't see how they're going to be better.
This is not what Maple Leafs fans want to hear, but they can't be so blind to reality. They should know by now that the team is in a bad spot.
The Atlantic Division is getting better, and they got marginally worse. That is not going to bode well once the regular season begins in seven weeks from now.
Having said that, the Leafs have gotten grittier, and perhaps losing Marner will turn out to be a positive that no one saw coming.
All fans can do right now is wait and see, which can sometimes be downright torturous.
