Toronto Maple Leafs fans are very passionate about their team, and when it comes to enforcers, there have been some strong opinions about who was the best.
Over the last few years, the Toronto Maple Leafs have been trying to find enforcers who can protect their superstar players like Auston Matthews and William Nylander.
In the end, they landed on Ryan Reaves, a veteran player who has never shied away from dropping the gloves...until this past season where he participated in just one tilt.
Previously, the team was known for some gritty tough customers who would even fight fans when called upon. Of course, Tie Domi comes to mind.
Who is the best Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer?
Speaking of Tie Domi, the former Leafs forward was recently given quite the honor by Leafs fans thanks to a poll conducted by The Leafs Nation.
The poll was asking Leafs fans who they believe the best enforcer in franchise history is. Given that information, it should come as no surprise that Tie Domi was the answer.
He retired from NHL hockey in 2006, and he was a huge contributor to the team until the very end. Furthermore, he played over 1000 games.
What makes Tie Domi so fascinating is that he was drafted by the Leafs initially and only played two games before going to the New York Rangers.
However, by the mid-90s, Domi was already back playing with the Maple Leafs and showing the world just how gritty a guy he can be.
Tie Domi will always be a beloved player, and the fact that Max Domi plays for the team now is the cherry on top.
