Last season, the Toronto Maple Leafs traded Fraser Minten for Brandon Carlo, and this is a move that has left a lot of fans feeling cheated.

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Brandon Carlo has been ripped to shreds so far this season thanks to some soft play in the early going.
Overall, Carlo has been disappointing as a whole, and when you consider how he was traded for Fraser Minten, you can see why Leafs fans would be upset.
Last night, the Leafs lost to the Boston Bruins by a score of 5-3, and Fraser Minten scored a goal, which added insult to injury.
Meanwhile, Carlo was not particularly good in that game, and it has led to discourse about whether or not the Carlo trade is a real bust.

Brandon Carlo for Fraser Minten continues to be debated

Below, you can see the average fan sentiment right now. It's not a good outlook, and it makes you wonder if GM Brad Treliving has buyer's remorse.
I was sad to see Minten traded and acknowledged it was a big price to pay at the time, but I was legit excited for Brandon Carlo. Thought he was a missing piece on the backend.

He has been a massive disappointment so far. There is still time, but right now the trade is looking like it could be another one in a long list of Bruins fleece-jobs on the Leafs. At this point, the TOR org should outlaw all possibilities of deals with these guys.
If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, it is easy to be upset about this trade. However, it is also important to remember why this trade was made in the first place.
The Leafs needed some defense last season going into the playoffs, and as a result, they decided to sacrifice Minten.
It was a calculation that had to be made, even if it was one that was always going to be very difficult to make.
Only time will tell whether or not the Toronto Maple Leafs are able to get on the good side of this deal, once and for all.
