Craig Berube Delivers Concerning Update on Matthew Knies' Leg Injury Ahead of Game 7

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube gave an update on Matthew Knies last night that might not inspire much confidence in the fanbase right now.
Matthew Knies has been a revelation for the Toronto Maple Leafs this season and there is no doubt that he means a lot to this team, especially as a top line guy.
Unfortunately, in the first period of last night's Game 6 win against the Florida Panthers, Knies sustained some kind of leg injury that looked pretty bad, all things considered.
He could be seen on the bench telling trainers that he could not move his leg. Furthermore, there were times when he would have to miss a shift because he was in so much pain.
Although he did play a pretty sizeable chunk of the game, regardless, there are concerns about his status going into Game 7, and understandably so.

After Friday night's game, head coach Craig Berube spoke to the media, and unsurprisingly, he was asked about what happened to his star forward.
Unfortunately, Berube didn't have much to say in relation to Knies. For now, he is undergoing evaluation and that is all that can be said. We still don't know if he will play on Sunday.

Matthew Knies is very important to this team and we can only hope that he will be ready to go by Sunday evening in Game 7.
However, based on how the forward was grimacing in pain on the bench, things didn't look so good and it will be interesting to see if he can recover in time.
There is no doubt that Game 6 was a statement game by the Leafs and we can only hope that they do it again in Game 7.
