Craig Berube Delivers Stunning Calle Jarnkrok Update that Will Change the Leafs' Trade Deadline Plans

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Calle Jarnkrok has been dealing with a sports hernia all season, however, Craig Berube just delivered an update that could change everything.
Calle Jarnkrok is a player that the Maple Leafs didn't exactly expect to have this season as he suffered a sports hernia in the preseason and just never really appeared on the team's radar through the first half of the season.
Although the forward had been making process, it still felt like a pipe dream that he would be back in the lineup anytime soon.

However, since the 4 Nations Face-Off, there have been various positive updates in regards to Jarnkrok and head coach Craig Berube has been singing his praises.
In fact, Berube dropped a bombshell after practice today claiming that he believes the center is ready to go and pending doctor approval, he wants to start him against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
"For me, he's ready to go. It's decision time for him & the doctors"
Jarnkrok also spoke about his own recovery and explained how he feels right now as he awaits the medical clearance process. Needless to say, the Leafs are in a good spot to get their center back.
"I feel great out there. I'm just waiting for the last medical clearance here. I don't know if it will be tomorrow or the next day or the day after that, but I'm really close."
This news comes at a very interesting time for the Toronto Maple Leafs as part of their plan for the trade deadline was to go out and get themselves a bottom-six center.
However, if Calle Jarnkrok is back, then one has to seriously wonder whether or not it even makes sense to acquire another player down the middle.
Then again, Leafs forward can also play the wing which opens up options. But whatever the case may be, general manager Brad Treliving is going to have to make some very difficult decisions here.
