Shane Pinto dashes the Toronto Maple Leafs' hopes
All too often this season, the team's offense has looked stagnant, especially against some of their biggest rivals.
Shane Pinto scored a bizarre goal that went off of his knee and then barely crossed the goal line.
Some felt like the Maple Leafs should have challenged the goal, but as Craig Berube explained, he couldn't. Not to mention, it seemed like a good goal from his point of view.
«I can't challenge that. That's an upstairs call by the league. They looked at it and said it was a good goal.»
All things considered, last night was a pretty boring and emotionless rivalry game which does not bode well for the Maple Leafs moving forward.
They need to be a whole lot better against their biggest rivals, otherwise, they won't be able to go very far in the postseason.
There are only a couple of games left until
the Four Nations Face-Off which is going to give the Leafs a nice break to regroup and get themselves healthy and ready for a push in the month of April and maybe even May.
Only time will tell whether or not this team finally gets over the humps they have struggled with for almost a decade.
