Did Brad Treliving just find the perfect trade partner for the Maple Leafs?

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has a lot of work to do these days as it pertains to his roster, which has had just a few struggles.
At this stage of the game, many fans have been begging him to make some sort of move. Although he did trade Timothy Liljegren, many suggest that this is not enough. Instead, they want to see him do something to really go out and shake up the team in a positive way.
According to Frank Seravalli, there is one team that may just be the perfect trading partner for the Leafs. That team would be the Columbus Blue Jackets. This is because the team's general manager Don Waddell has explicitly stated that he would be interested in taking on bad contracts for draft picks and other assets.

"(Waddell) has let teams know that he is interested in taking on contracts that may be viewed as undesirable in exchange for assets." Seravalli said, noting that Waddell is looking for lower-year deals instead:
"Waddell's response has been, 'I'm not interested in guys for that long, because somewhere in that 3 to 5 year window, my team's gonna be better and pushing for the playoffs and I don't want to devote cap space to players who are already deemed as undesirable.'"

The Maple Leafs have a few players they could use here. One of which being David Kampf. He makes $2.4 million per year and hasn't been super productive this season. Having said that, there is no telling what the Blue Jackets would offer in return. Either way, Columbus could be a good start for Treliving to operate from.
