Ex-Toronto Maple Leafs Forward Signs New Deal After Successful PTO with Bitter Rival

During training camp, there were a few PTOs to go around with limited success, although a former Toronto Maple Leafs forward found a home with the Florida Panthers.
This was the only PTO the Leafs gave throughout the season, and while it displayed lots of fan service, it didn't actually result in the goaltender getting signed.
Meanwhile, other former Leafs players around the league were given PTOs as well. This includes
Noah Gregor, who played with the team during the 2023-24 season.
After a stint with the Ottawa Senators and the San Jose Sharks, the forward found himself with the Florida Panthers on a PTO that turned out to be a rare success.
Florida Panthers bring in Noah Gregor
Just a couple of days ago, the Panthers revealed that they had signed Gregor to a new contract, showcasing just how hard work can pay off.
Despite only having 70 points in 293 NHL games, Gregor is seen as a gritty guy who can inject some defensive energy into the fourth line.
For hardcore fans of the Leafs, you probably remember Gregor, even if his stint with the team was fairly brief and uneventful.
Regardless, it is good to see a player get a contract and show himself to be someone who is willing to lay it on the line for his NHL dream.
Going into this season, the Panthers remain a key rival to the Leafs, and it will be interesting to see how this rivalry ends up playing out going forward.
The Leafs will be looking for revenge, but that is a lot easier said than done.
