Today is the second day of the NHL Entry Draft, and things are getting a bit nutty, especially with a former Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman getting traded.
During the final stretch of the season, Timmins showed improvement, and it became clear that the Penguins were using him more effectively.
However, the defenseman became a victim of the NHL Entry Draft today, as Kyle Dubas decided to trade him to a Toronto Maple Leafs rival.
Connor Timmins leaving the Pittsburgh Penguins
With the Penguins looking to move up to the 39th pick in the NHL Entry Draft, the Penguins opted to send
Connor Timmins and
Isaac Belliveau to the Buffalo Sabres.
The Penguins got the draft pick, which became Peyton Kettles. Meanwhile, the Penguins also got
Connor Clifton.

No. 39 overall (Peyton Kettles)
Connor Clifton
To #Sabres:
Conor TimminsIsaac Belliveau
Ultimately, this is a minor trade in the grand scheme of things, and this definitely won't be the biggest deal of the entire summer.
However, if you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, you might find yourself interested in the path that some of these former guys have gone on since leaving the franchise.
We wish Timmins the best of luck going forward, and we're sure he will continue to be a solid NHLer who can help a team that is rebuilding.
Now that he plays for the Sabres, he will get to see the Leafs a lot more often, going forward.
