Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving does not have an easy job, and with the team in need of offense, his top priority has become as obvious as ever.

Brad Treliving has been pretty creative so far this summer. With Mitch Marner on his way out, the general manager brought in Matias Maccelli and Nicolas Roy.
Recently, he made a trade for Dakota Joshua, who is a player that Vancouver Canucks fans already miss greatly. Needless to say, Leafs fans are happy with the job Treliving is doing.
Unfortunately, there is still one major hole on this team, and it's one that is not going to be filled up easily. In fact, the GM may not be able to do it at all.

Brad Treliving looks to improve the Toronto Maple Leafs

According to David Pagnotta, Treliving has made it his mission to find a top-six forward that can play on the right wing. This would be Marner's replacement.
Replacing 102 points of offense is never easy, although there are some options available. For instance, the Leafs have been linked to Bryan Rust.
They're still looking for a top six guy, they'd still like somebody on that right side
Given how thin the free agency market has become, it seems pretty obvious that the Maple Leafs are going to have to make a trade in order to get what they want.
Of course, a roadblock to that will be the Leafs' lack of assets, which has been a running narrative throughout the entire offseason.
If the Maple Leafs are, indeed, serious about getting a top-six player, they will likely have to part ways with a roster player. Thankfully, someone like Nick Robertson can be used as bait.
These next few weeks will be fascinating to watch, and Leafs fans are certainly eager to see how it all shapes out.
