Toronto Maple Leafs' Asking Price for Calle Jarnkrok & David Kampf Takes Significant Hit

With the Toronto Maple Leafs looking to trade Calle Jarnkrok and David Kampf, it would appear as though general manager Brad Treliving is facing a harsh reality.
It is no secret at this point that the
Toronto Maple Leafs would like to trade guys like David Kampf and Calle Jarnkrok.
These bottom-six forwards were not particularly productive last season, and general manager Brad Treliving would love to free up some cap space.
Calle Jarnkrok and David Kampf could be traded soon
The market for these two has been razor thin, and we have not seen a lot of movement or interest. As a result, Treliving's expectations on a return have taken a hit.
For example, Bryan Hayes of TSN is now making the claim that if the Leafs are serious about trading Jarnkrok or Kampf, they will have to accept at best, a fourth-round draft pick.
[Calle Jarnkrok] is still a good player in the league, that can play. David Kampf can play. There's going to be a market for him to play somewhere in the league -- there's 32 teams... if [Dakota] Joshua is getting a 4th [round pick], that's what you'd expect at best if you're going to move off of both of those guys.

Ultimately, this is fair. The Leafs' priority right now should be trading these two players, regardless of what the actual return might be.
Whether or not Treliving can get that done quickly still remains to be seen. There is still a lot to consider when it comes to these two forwards.
Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs roster needs a top-six forward or another defenseman who can get you points. Those kinds of players are quite hard to find.
Either way, Treliving is a resourceful general manager, and we look forward to whatever he does next.
