Toronto Maple Leafs Urged to Trade for $10 Million Defenseman

The Toronto Maple Leafs could use quite a bit of offense on their blue line, and there is one defenseman on the Carolina Hurricanes who could do some damage.
Morgan Rielly hasn't been the offensive juggernaut that fans have hoped, especially when you consider how he makes $7.5 million per season.
Overall, the Maple Leafs are a team that needs offense from their blue line, and they need to get creative about acquiring it.
Instead, the Maple Leafs need to think smaller but just as efficiently. For instance, former NHLer Jason Strudwick is claiming that the Maple Leafs should go after Shayne Gostisbehere.
He is only making $3.2 million per season, and he is doing great things on offense for the Carolina Hurricanes.
For instance, last season he had seven goals, 38 assists, and 45 points. The year before that, he had 56 points, which shows just how good he is.
The Leafs would theoretically have the cap space for Gostisbehere if they clear out guys like
David Kampf and
Calle Jarnkrok.
Having said that, the fanbase is just going to have to let general manager Brad Treliving cook, going forward.
Ultimately, the Maple Leafs are a good team, and we cannot wait to see what else the team does to improve the roster.
Treliving has already been creative, and we imagine he will continue to be creative going forward.
