Anthony Stolarz was a revelation for the Toronto Maple Leafs last season, as he was able to manage a goals-against average of 2.14 and a save percentage of .926.

However, due to injury, he only played in 34 games. Sure, he was great in the playoffs. But once again, he found himself injured, albeit the situation was out of his control.

Regardless, the Stolarz situation is getting interesting as he enters the final year of his deal, where he makes $2.5 million per season. He is eligible for a contract extension, and with Lukas Dostal getting over $6 million per season, many are curious about how much Stolarz will make on his next deal.

This was a question pondered by the Steve Dangle Podcast this week. The main host of the show, Steve Dangle, was particularly interested in what the Leafs do next.

During the segment on Stolarz and Dostal, Dangle posited that Stolarz's age and injury history should bring his price down significantly. However, he also noted that Joseph Woll's salary of $3.66 million per season is probably too low.

As a result, the final number was in the $4-4.5 million range. This seems pretty reasonable, with Dangle saying both sides should get it done.

During the podcast, there were also some fears about the Edmonton Oilers looking to make a move for Stolarz next summer.

Of course, the Leafs could also make a deal with Stolarz and then trade him to the Oilers for a huge pack of assets. If any team is desperate for goaltending, it would be Edmonton.

Regardless, this is going to be a tough decision for the Maple Leafs to make over the coming months, especially if Joseph Woll continues to show promise.
