Free agent forward Jack Roslovic has been on the Toronto Maple Leafs' radar for quite some time, and now, the Leafs know what the price is going to be.
However, some have felt as though the forward is redundant given the recent moves for guys like
Nicolas Roy and even
Dakota Joshua.
Jack Roslovic sets his price for the Toronto Maple Leafs
According to reporter Cam Robinson, Roslovic is hoping for two to three years on his next deal. Moreover, he wants just above $3 million per season.
This would be a solid contract for a guy who just scored 22 goals. The Maple Leafs could afford him, but whether or not they find him redundant, remains to be seen.
In fact, there seems to be a sense that Roslovic could sign with the Vancouver Canucks, who are desperate to replace Joshua.
The Maple Leafs need a top-six guy right now, and that is likely to be general manager Brad Treliving's top priority going forward.
Bottom-six guys are plentiful on the Maple Leafs roster, and they don't exactly need to rush things along with Roslovic if they don't want to.
Having said that, with Nick Robertson in arbitration, the Leafs may be poised to make a trade soon, which could open up a roster spot.
Whatever the case may be, the Leafs have options, and Treliving is going to have to make some tough choices.
