Finding viable free agents to sign is not easy these days, especially for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have too many roster players and not enough cap space.
Jack Roslovic to the Toronto Maple Leafs?
Well, today, we got an update on the Roslovic situation from James Mirtle of The Athletic. He revealed that Roslovic wants to sign, but the Leafs have all of the cards right now, and want to make sure they get a bargain deal.
I think this one is roughly 50-50 right now, but it sounds like the ball is in the Leafs' court here, in that he's interested in the opportunity. And I don't think it would cost a lot, in terms of dollars or term.
Roslovic is coming off a 22-goal, 39-point season, which is one of the best of his career. The 28-year-old can play center and would fit well on the third or fourth line.
Additionally, he was teammates with
Auston Matthews back in their Team USA development days, so there would be some chemistry in the locker room.
Overall, this is going to be a fascinating situation to watch play out, and we hope the Leafs are able to make something happen.
Fans have been a bit disappointed with the lack of movement, but this promises to be something tangible.
