Toronto Maple Leafs forward John Tavares has been one of the team's NHLPA representatives, so it shouldn't be surprising that he has thoughts on the CBA.

Just a few days ago, both sides put pen to paper on the agreement, which will officially take effect as of the 2026-27 season.
As you can down below, the regular season will now be 84 games, while players must absolutely wear neck protection.
Meanwhile, the LTIR loophole has finally been abolished, which is great to see. Overall, it was something that fans hated, and now, teams won't be able to take advantage.
✅ 84 game season (shorter preseason)
✅ Neck guards on
✅ 7 year max contracts instead of 8
✅ Salary Cap compliance for playoffs
Now that the CBA has been completed, some players are speaking out and giving their opinions on the new agreement.

John Tavares weighs in on the CBA

One such player was John Tavares of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who has been a representative for the NHLPA.
The predictability of things goes a long way, I think, for everyone in the sport.

It's great to have that partnership and how collaborative it's been, which has been very different from 2012.

Long are the days of lockouts and uncertainty. For the fans, this is most definitely a good thing, and we're happy there is more collaboration now.
Only time will tell whether or not this CBA proves to be good for both sides, moving forward.
