Maple Leafs President Brendan Shanahan's Firing Date May Have Just Been Leaked

Toronto Maple Leafs president Brendan Shanahan is on the hot seat with MLSE right now, and deservingly so given the lack of results over the past few seasons.
As the President of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Shanahan is largely responsible for hockey operations. While Brad Treliving signs contracts and makes trades, Shanahan helps steer the ship.
After yet another playoff disaster on Sunday, the consensus is that the Maple Leafs will have a President before July 1st. MLSE is known for making sweeping changes, and the belief is that those changes are imminent.
Will MLSE fire Brendan Shanahan?
In fact, @yyzsportsmedia on X revealed that MLSE is rumored to be having a big board meeting on Thursday. The timing is certainly suspicious.
The implication here is that Shanahan could very well be gone by the end of the week, especially if the board members all see it as a necessary evil.
With the Islanders looking for new leadership, they called to ask the Leafs if they could get permission to speak with Shahahan. While we don't know how MLSE responded to that, we do know that the Islanders making such a call shows Shanahan could be gone very soon.
There was also a report from Luke Fox this week suggesting that we could see Brad Treliving lose his job as well.
Everyone in a leadership role appears to be on the hot seat, which is shocking when you consider how this team won the Atlantic Division.
Either way, the fans are begging for better results, and perhaps a new front office can deliver that. No matter what, these next few weeks will be very interesting.
