Matthew Knies Delivers Hilarious Reaction to Alexander Ovechkin's NHL Scoring Record

Everyone already knows this by now but Alexander Ovechkin broke the NHL record for most goals in a career as he scored his 895th over the weekend as the Washington Capitals played the New York Islanders.

Wayne Gretzky was in the building for the goal and there was a huge on ice celebration immediately after.

For the entirety of the league, this was a massive moment that no one thought possible. But it did happen and there are plenty of reasons to celebrate.

Today, numerous players on the Toronto Maple Leafs were asked their thoughts about the record and whether or not they think it will be broken.

For instance, Auston Matthews was asked if he thinks he will break the record, which led to a very solid and honest answer about where his head is at.

Matthew Knies on the other hand, easily had the funniest response to all of this, simply saying "I can't even count that high." Quite frankly, neither can we.

Knies has been an amazing player with the Toronto Maple Leafs and has a solid amount of goals this season with 26.

This is a career high for the forward as he plays on a line with superstars like Mitch Marner and of course, Auston Matthews.

As for Ovechkin, his record will forever live in infamy and we're doubtful that it will be broken anytime soon. Although we said the same about Gretzky and now look.

While Knies may not come close to the record, Maple Leafs fans are just happy to have a guy like him on the team who clearly seems like he loves being a Leaf.
