Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi made a huge mistake in the faceoff dot against Shane Pinto and he paid for it with a four-minute penalty.
Max Domi is a player who has had a very difficult season with the Toronto Maple Leafs as he only had eight goals in the regular season.
In four games in the playoffs so far, he only has one goal, although it was a big one as he scored the overtime winner in Game 2.
In Game 4, he became a foil of sorts as he ended up taking a terrible four-minute penalty thanks to an incident involving Shane Pinto in the faceoff dot.
Max Domi speaks on Shane Pinto incident
It was a penalty that led to a Senators goal and while the Leafs did force overtime as the game went on, there is no denying that this could have been avoided.
While speaking to the media today, Max Domi actually apologized for what went down, noting that it was a mistake and emotions got the best of him.
»It's obviously unfortunate. Sometimes when you're battling, you just react and throw your arm out a little. I didn't mean to hit him in the face - sometimes things like that just happen.»
Domi will have to be better if the Leafs want to keep their success going in this series, especially as we reach Game 5.
Tuesday night's match is a moment where the Leafs can officially break off from the pack and win the series once and for all.
However, if the Senators win, then there will be all sorts of uncomfortable conversations going into Game 6 which will be played in Ottawa.
Hopefully, players like Max Domi can have big games and show that they belong when the games get more important.
