Morgan Rielly gave the Toronto Maple Leafs a bit of a scare
After the first period, the Maple Leafs are looking very good as the score is 3-0 in their favor.
However, Rielly had a bit of an injury scare earlier in the period as he took a shot right off of his knee.
The defenseman immediately went down in pain and had to go back to the locker room where he was looked at.
Thankfully, not long after this, Rielly got back onto the ice and was even part of the team's Power Play.
He has just 18 points in 34 games, which is way below his usual point production.
Meanwhile, he is a -9 which is just not acceptable for a defenseman who is making as much money as he is.
Fans have been having some difficult conversations about Morgan Rielly, and it seems clear that the fans would like to see him improve immediately.
Having said that, the Leafs are up in their game against Detroit, and for now, that should be the focus.
As they say, take it one game at a time.
