Nazem Kadri reveals what really went down between Mitch Marner and Mike Babcock

Nazem Kadri just dropped some bombshell information on the infamous situation between Mike Babcock and Mitch Marner.
Babcock's tenure with the Toronto Maple Leafs was not looked upon favorably by Leafs fans. Overall, he was a mean-spirited coach who did nefarious things to get guys motivated. For instance, he once forced Mitch Marner to rank every single player on the Leafs by their work ethic.
Marner was still new to the NHL at that point, and he was extremely uncomfortable with the request. However, he was coerced into doing it anyway. Now, in his new book Dreamer: My Life on the Edge,
Kadri is speaking out on how this all went down and the aftermath of it all.As you can see in the excerpt which was posted to Twitter, Kadri made it clear that this weighed very heavily on Marner and his spirit. So much so that he confessed all of it to the team, and even showed some of the players his rankings. He was very apologetic and truly felt horrible, every step of the way.
This serves as a great illustration of why Babcock was always the worst choice possible for the Maple Leafs. The team did not like him, and what he did to Marner is absolutely inexcusable.
Now, the Leafs employ Craig Berube, who is much more positive about his players. Sure, he might be tough on them at times, but it is the type of tough love that will carry this team pretty far.
