Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi has been lackluster this season and there is no doubt that the trade deadline could be a very turbulent day for him.
Max Domi has three goals this season and his 20 points have simply not been enough to carry the Maple Leafs third line.
«What's gonna be really interesting moving forward is Max Domi,» Seravalli said. «That third line has been no good. It's been one of the most lifeless in the league, and that's with Bobby McMann on it right now, having a great season. They have to figure something out, and it's really unfortunate for Max.»
This is definitely unfortunate when you consider how Domi has always wanted to be a Leaf, especially considering his father's history with the franchise.
However, when you haven't been playing well enough, your name is going to get brought up in trade rumors.
It is unfortunate, but hockey is a very harsh business and these things are just going to happen.
What makes things more difficult for Domi is the fact that the 4 Nations Face-Off break doesn't give him much of a time to redeem himself before the deadline.
Brad Treliving will simply have to make an assessment based on everything he has seen over the past four months, and they are not a good reflection of what Domi has done in the past.
