Thankfully, Chris Johnston has a few updates that will certainly ease the minds of Maple Leafs fans.
Firstly, as it pertains to Knies, it seems as though his injury is not serious and that there is a chance he is back on Saturday against the Ottawa Senators.
The early word on Matthew Knies, who left Wednesday night's game against Columbus with an upper-body injury, is positive. His return is expected to be a matter of days, not weeks, so he shouldn't be sidelined for long.
He has yet to get back on the ice and he won't be able to return until he has some ice time under his belt.
As for John Tavares, who sustained a lower-body injury during practice last week, he has not resumed skating yet. While he's progressing well, there's still some uncertainty around when he'll return, and he won't be close to playing until he's back on the ice with his teammates.

The Maple Leafs are a team that has been riddled with injuries over the past few months.
That said, they have been able to keep the good time rolling and are currently first in the Atlantic Division.
With a rivalry game coming up on Saturday, there is no doubt that this team is motivated to go to war.
