NHL Insider Unleashes Devastating Report Concerning John Tavares & the Toronto Maple Leafs

Toronto Maple Leafs forward John Tavares is up for a new contract at the end of this season, however, one NHL Insider isn't so sure that it is going to happen.
John Tavares is one of many Leafs players who will be a free agent in the offseason and this has led to a lot of rumors.
At the age of 34, Tavares has been a beast and was certainly one of the best players on the team during the regular season.
Unfortunately, the playoffs have been more of a struggle for Tavares and it is yet another continuation of the core four's inability to get it done when it matters.
Is John Tavares staying with the Toronto Maple Leafs?
Once the season is over, there will be conversations had about who needs to go and who needs to stay.
According to Chris Johnston, the former captain might just be one of the players who is officially on his way out.
In a new report, Johnston made the argument that if the Leafs lose in the second round, then upper management will want to make huge changes.
"Unless the Leafs can pick themselves up off the mat and win Game 6 on the road in Florida on Friday night, this may be how it ends for Marner in Toronto.
Same goes for John Tavares, another pending UFA who has repeatedly expressed a desire to stay but may not be granted that opportunity. He had a fantastic season at age 34, but it will be difficult for management to justify running things back at the top of the lineup unless this group finally takes a meaningful step forward."

Seeing Tavares leave would be sad but given everything that has happened, it is kind of necessary.
Mitch Marner might be leaving too and quite frankly, it seems like it's time.
However, the Leafs could win the next two games against the Florida Panthers and change all of our minds. Who knows what's next?
