Nick Robertson's Fate with the Toronto Maple Leafs Has Been Sealed Following Shocking Trade

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson is in the midst of a contract negotiation, but it doesn't appear as though the forward will have a spot on the team.
Nick Robertson is a restricted free agent right now, and he has taken the Toronto Maple Leafs to arbitration so that he can get a new contract as quickly as possible.
However, there have been reports about the Maple Leafs' willingness to keep Robertson and whether or not a trade is on the horizon.
In fact, the Maple Leafs made a trade on Thursday for winger Dakota Joshua, which has further complicated the relationship between the Leafs and Robertson.
Nick Robertson doesn't have a spot on the Toronto Maple Leafs
According to Scott Wheeler, the Leafs' projected lineup next season does not include Nick Robertson.
Furthermore, it omits guys like Calle Jarnkrok, David Kampf, and even prospective rookie Easton Cowan, who has been keen to make the team.

I don't think Pezzetta should be in their 12 but presumably they think so. Doubly doesn't bode well for Nick Robertson, Easton Cowan, David Kampf, and Calle Jarnkork. Have to think two are moved/waived. They could still sign one more forward conceivably, too.

With all of these bottom-six acquisitions, it does feel as though the team is trying to push Robertson to the side.
Overall, there are other teams that could use the forward, but right now, he is stuck in a contract dispute with a team that seems indifferent towards him.
Only time will tell what happens with Robertson, and whether or not the Maple Leafs give him what he wants.
At this stage, it feels like the two sides are very close to a divorce, and it's probably for the best if it happens.
