Seattle Kraken Granted Permission to Speak with Toronto Maple Leafs Assistant Coach

The Toronto Maple Leafs have a strong stable of coaches, one of whom is Lane Lambert, who is garnering some attention from the Seattle Kraken.
Now that the NHL offseason is upon us, there are numerous teams out there who are looking for a new head coach.
Of course, one of those teams is the Seattle Kraken, who recently fired Dan Bylsma after yet another season in which the team did not make it to the playoffs.
Now, the team is going through the head coaching hiring process, and it appears as though there is a Leafs assistant who is at the top of their wish list.
Lane Lambert to the Seattle Kraken?
According to Darren Dreger of TSN, Leafs assistant coach Lane Lambert is someone who the Kraken want to interview.
The team requested permission from the Maple Leafs to do so, and the Leafs granted that wish. Now, Lambert will have a chance at winning a head coaching job with the league's newest expansion franchise.
Seattle continues to work through its process in hiring a head coach. Toronto has granted the Kraken permission to speak with Lane Lambert. Mitch Love and David Quinn believed to be among those in the mix as well.
There is no telling if Lambert will get the job. However, this is a sign that the Leafs have a great coaching unit, led by Craig Berube.
This is a coaching core that helped the team win an Atlantic Division. While they did fall short in the postseason, that mostly lies on the players and not the coaches.
Overall, we wish Lambert the best of luck with his interview. While it would suck to see him go, you do want to see guys get their dream jobs.
After a bad week, the Toronto Maple Leafs certainly needed some good news or an injection of positivity.
