The NHL playoffs are on the horizon and if there is ever a time where you would want your entire team to be healthy, it would be right now.
Meanwhile, there was another key player missing and if you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, this is going to be concerning, to say the least.
According to Mark Masters, Oliver Ekman-Larsson was notably absent from practice today and as it stands, we don't know why this was the case.
Of course, this could just be an instance of the team looking to rest a player who has been getting some heavy minutes as of late.
Or, it could be an injury or some sort of tweak that he is attempting to work out. Whatever the case may be, this kind of absence does lend itself to some questions.
Ekman-Larsson has been great for the team this season as he has a net rating of +14 and has four goals and 29 points.
He has been a workhorse for this team and was one of the great additions to the blue line during the offseason.
Hopefully, the Maple Leafs provide some clarity on this situation very soon as the fans most certainly want it.
Now is not the time to start getting a plethora of injuries, especially with
the Atlantic Division fight fight taking place right now. There is a lot riding on this battle.
