This Stat Proves the Toronto Maple Leafs Offense is in Serious Trouble

Despite being first place in the Atlantic Division, the Toronto Maple Leafs have had a very disappointing offense this season and the last two games are concerning.
The
Maple Leafs lost a tough game to the Ottawa Senators last night and for the second straight game, they were only able to score one goal.
Toronto Maple Leafs struggle on offense
Last night against the Senators, the Leafs looked dormant for much of the game and guys like
Auston Matthews and
Mitch Marner simply were not good enough.
As Leafs Latest points out on Twitter, the Leafs have not scored a goal in four of their last six periods of play.
Not to mention, they just have two goals during this recent two-game losing streak. This is not how you win a Stanley Cup.
When the top line isn't scoring, the bottom six barely contribute and that is also a major problem for this Maple Leafs roster right now.
Another issue right now is that the Leafs have lost five of their last eight games.
They lost three in a row, won three in a row, and have now lost two straight. The team is struggling to be consistent and that is a real issue.
Of course, it should be noted that the team is pretty banged up right now which certainly contributes to some of these problems.
Having said that, with the Four Nations Face-Off break coming up soon, it is clear that the team and the players could use a long break.
