Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has to make a move soon, although during this time of year, it is expected that movement is limited.
If you have been paying attention to the offseason, you have probably noticed that the Toronto Maple Leafs have been quiet lately.
After making trades for Matias Maccelli, Nicolas Roy, and Dakota Joshua, the team has taken a bit of a break, especially with markets thinning out.
Having said that, the fans have been waiting for something big to happen, and no one really knows when that is going to happen. They just hope it happens soon.
Brad Treliving has to make a move for the Toronto Maple Leafs
Recently, it was reported by insider John Shannon that fans can expect the entire NHL to start getting back into gear as of the first week of August.
This is when teams will decide what they want to do, and we could see an influx of trades, as well as some signings.
I fully expect that first week of August we will start to hear and feel, if there are any tweaks that are gonna be made...I think that's probably fair to say for all 32 teams
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been looking for a top-six forward, but that is a lot easier said than done at this stage.
Overall, it is going to be difficult for the Maple Leafs to get anything done, especially when you consider how they don't have a ton of assets to offer other teams.
Having said that, there is a chance that there are teams looking to get rid of guys for cheap, especially due to salary cap concerns.
Whatever the case may be, the Leafs need to keep grinding away. If they don't, then they risk falling behind.
