However, the Leafs still have one more game to play and it is against the Detroit Red Wings. The game is tonight and it will be a good way to seal a solid season.
Joseph Woll starts against the Detroit Red Wings
That has proven to 100 percent be the case as Woll was in the starting goalie net this morning as the Leafs took to the ice for an AM skate.
Overall, this is what fans were expecting, especially since it almost feels set in stone that
Anthony Stolarz will be the goaltender for the playoffs. Especially given his recent string of games.
Either way, this will be a good way for
Woll to show his teammates what he can do. Even if he won't be the starter, he still has to demonstrate that he is trustworthy in goal.
With a goals-against average of 2.72 and a save percentage of .909, he has definitely been solid. However, he could be better.
Tonight, the Leafs don't need him to stand on his head. All he really needs to do is make timely saves and just nurse this team past the finish line.
The real games begin on Sunday and that is what the fans are yearning for the most. They want playoff success and they want it now.
