Toronto Maple Leafs fans berate the franchise for incompetence surrounding Auston Matthews

Toronto Maple Leafs fans are livid right now and it has everything to do with the fact that the team has done a bad job of disclosing Auston Matthews' injury issues.
Matthews has been dealing with his lingering injury issue for quite some time now, but unfortunately, there has been no resolution in terms of getting him to 100 percent.
Toronto Maple Leafs mixed messages on Auston Matthews
The captain originally missed three weeks of action, and when he came back, it was expected that he was good to go.
This has not been the case, and Matthews is out again, with no return date in sight.
On 32 Thoughts, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet spoke on the Maple Leafs fanbase, and just how livid they are with management right now.
"I think a lot of fans are panicking. I certainly sense that. There was certainly some of that (why did Matthews even play against Buffalo)... Their fans are getting all over them about the injury diagnosis."
Darren Dreger also spoke about the feelings of Leafs fans, although he was a bit more dismissive in his approach.
Dreger noted that some Leafs fans feel like the team has not been transparent enough when it comes to Matthews, although the TSN insider sees this as a ridiculous complaint.
"I think the fan base should just pump the brakes a little bit if that is truly the deepness of their concern."
Whatever the case may be right now, there are large swaths of the Leafs fandom who feel like they were lied to, and that is a real problem.
Only time will tell when Auston Matthews returns to the Maple Leafs lineup, although for now, it is probably better if he sits out for the immediate future.
