Toronto Maple Leafs Get Sobering Reality Check Amid Nazem Kadri Trade Rumors

Nazem Kadri has been dealing with trade rumors since the start of the NHL season, and the Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the teams that would love to have him.
Calgary Flames forward Nazem Kadri just celebrated the 1000th game of his NHL career, and there is no denying that he has many more in the tank.
Having said that, Kadri has been dealing with a plethora of trade rumors as of late. In fact, these rumors date back to the NHL offseason.
The Toronto Maple Leafs were named in many of these rumors, and there has been this feeling among the fanbase that Kadri is what this team needs.
Of course, a Kadri trade would cost the Maple Leafs dearly, and it just doesn't seem like this team has the assets to get it done.
Is Nazem Kadri on the trade block?
To make matters worse, a new report suggests that the Calgary Flames have absolutely no interest in trading Kadri right now.
In fact, ownership is one of the many entities handing down this opinion. By no means do they want to part ways with their center.

If you are a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, this is probably a tough pill to swallow, but you really shouldn't be surprised by it.
The Flames are trying to make the playoffs and win something, and in order to do that, they are going to need Kadri on their side.
Having said that, the Leafs are going to hope and pray that something changes over the coming weeks and months.
