David Kampf has been suspended without pay by the Toronto Maple Leafs organization, and soon, we will know what the Leafs will do with the disgruntled forward.
If you have been paying attention to the Toronto Maple Leafs this week, you have probably noticed that the team has had a dispute with David Kampf.
After leaving the Toronto Marlies to contemplate his future, Kampf was suspended by the Leafs without pay, and now, both sides want to resolve the situation.
There are three options here, including a reconciliation, a termination, or a trade. Of course, the Leafs would love option number three.
What will happen to David Kampf
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, it is very likely that this situation is officially resolved by this weekend.
In fact, Pagnotta made the claim that both sides are amicable with one another, which is absolutely good news.
The Maple Leafs continue to navigate the market on David Kampf. A trade is preferred, but we'll see where and when this ends up - there is an expectation this is revolved by the end of the weekend. Should add, there's no animosity and both sides tell me it's all amicable.
If the Leafs do make a Kampf trade, they shouldn't expect very much in return when you consider how all of this has played out.
Having said that, the Maple Leafs are good without Kampf, and if the contract is terminated, he won't be so bad.
This weekend is especially important for the Maple Leafs, as they are going up against the Boston Bruins on Saturday, and the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday.
Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs can officially make it five in a row.
