Ahead of this pivotal game, Berube decided to make a big yet difficult decision on Sunday with the team traveling back to Toronto.
While speaking to reporters over Zoom, the head coach noted that he would not be having a practice today. Why? He wants his guys to recover ahead of Tuesday. Some guys played a lot of minutes and he wants to make sure they are ready to go.
»They've done a great job handling it so far, with our leaders setting the tone. I expect more of the same on Tuesday.»
Ultimately, Tuesday night is going to be a phenomenal game between two rivals who absolutely despise one another.
You have to wonder if the Maple Leafs can get the job done. If they don't, then fans are going to begin to hit the panic button, and it will absolutely be justified.
Craig Berube just needs to make sure his guys work hard at practice on Monday and come prepared on Tuesday. If the Leafs play their game, they can win.
If the Leafs do win on Tuesday, they will become one of the first teams to advance to the second round, which is an achievement worth celebrating.
