With the Toronto Maple Leafs looking to bolster their forward group with young talent, the team has picked out a left-winger from Providence College.
This year's Toronto Maple Leafs development camp should be an interesting one as the team has brought in multiple young talents from the college world.
Case in point, it was reported on Saturday by Mark Divver that the Leafs are inviting Providence College forward
Tanner Adams to their development camp this season.
The 19-year-old Adams played in his second season of college hockey this past season and was tied for the team lead in goals with 11.
He had 22 points to go along with those 11 goals, which means he registered a total of 11 assists.
In his first season with Providence, he had six goals and 15 assists for a total of 21 points. He has certainly come into his own as a goal-scorer.
Prior to attending Providence College, Tanner Adams played in the USHL for the Tri-City Storm.
In his rookie season, he had 12 goals and 32 points in 62 games. However, in his sophomore year, he had 12 goals and 33 points in 49 games.
While the 19-year-old is very unlikely to make the Maple Leafs next season, his invitation is still a good sign for his young career.
If anything, Leafs fans should be excited to see him in action as he attempts to prove himself amongst some exceptional young talents.
