Toronto Maple Leafs Learn the Asking Price for Blue Jackets Forward Yegor Chinakhov

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Yegor Chinakhov wants out of Ohio, and the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to make something happen on the trade market.
Yegor Chinakhov is a young forward with a ton of promise, who is evidently not so happy with his current team, the Columbus Blue Jackets.
He has requested a trade, and at this time, his agent has been given the green light to talk to potential teams and see if they have any interest in his client.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are reportedly one of the teams that are looking into Chinakhov. He is a guy who can score goals, and the Leafs appear to have equal value in Nick Robertson.
In fact, it was reported that the Leafs attempted to trade Robertson for Chinakhov, but in the end, the Blue Jackets rejected the deal.
The Columbus Blue Jackets want a lot for Yegor Chinakhov
According to Pierre LeBrun, the Maple Leafs are going to have to do better than Robertson if they want to get Chinakhov. Moreover, draft picks won't do the trick.
Instead, they don't want to make a lateral move. They want something that is going to help their team immediately, while also addressing organizational needs.

Given the fact that the only player the Leafs want to willingly trade right now is Nick Robertson, it feels unlikely that Chinakhov will become a member of the Maple Leafs.
However, general manager Brad Treliving has been known to be crafty, and we would love to see him try something and get a deal done here.
Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs can end up with Chinakhov, or if they will pass and send Robertson elsewhere.
