Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson is currently on the trading block, and there are teams like the Columbus Blue Jackets who could use him.
Nick Robertson is a player who has struggled for his opportunities with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and it has become a real problem for the franchise.
General Manager Brad Treliving has been ramping up his efforts to trade Robertson, and it seems like some offers have been made, to varyin degrees of success.
Nick Robertson rejected by the Columbus Blue Jackets
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Maple Leafs offered Robertson to the Columbus Blue Jackets. In return, they wanted
Yegor Chinakhov, who has requested a trade.
Unfortunately, for the Leafs, the Blue Jackets were not happy with this suggestion and ended talks.
Toronto is investigating options for Nick Robertson. At some point in the summer, they pitched a move for Yegor Chinakhov, but that wasn't to the Blue Jackets' liking
Chinakhov has lots of potential, but so does Robertson. With that in mind, it is hard to believe that the Blue Jackets wouldn't be interested.
The Blue Jackets do not have very much leverage here, especially since Chinakhov is so keen on leaving Columbus.
Regardless, the Maple Leafs want to get a deal done, and we're sure there are other teams that will be lining up for Robertson, soon enough.
Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs can create the right package that ultimately leads to Robertson leaving the franchise.
