Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs got blown out by the Columbus Blue Jackets, and in the process, they lost one of their most important bottom-six forwards.
The start of the
Toronto Maple Leafs' season has certainly been a bit of a problem, as the team has not been particularly good so far.
In the end, the Leafs dropped one of their worst performances of the entire season, although you can mostly blame goaltending for how horrific this was.
Unfortunately, the loss was made worse as one of the team's most beloved bottom-sixers,
Steven Lorentz, suffered an injury that took him out of the game.

In the middle of the game, it was reported by the Leafs PR account on X that Lorentz would not be returning to the game.
After the game, head coach Craig Berube did not have an update on Steven Lorentz, noting that he needs to be evaluated further before the team knows what's truly going on.
This is a loss that now brings the Maple Leafs to a record of 5-5-1, which puts them in very dangerous territory in the Atlantic Division.
Are the Toronto Maple Leafs in trouble?
These injuries wear on you, and now that they are missing Steven Lorentz, things could get very ugly.
This has to be figured out soon, and it starts with captain
Auston Matthews, who has been fairly abysmal to start the NHL season.
