Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Ben Danford has been included in trade talks for a while now, and Wednesday night into Thursday, he found himself switching teams.
Ben Danford is a defenseman that Toronto Maple Leafs fans are very excited about, and for very good reason. He has the potential to make the team in a few years, and he had a solid training camp.
Well, on Wednesday night, those rumblings became a reality thanks to a report from OHL Scoops on X.
Ben Danford goes to the Brantford Bulldogs
The defenseman is officially going to the Brantford Bulldogs, who had been showcasing a ton of interest in Danford, up until this point.
Teammate Zackary Sandhu will be joining him, all while guys like Aiden O'Donnell and Lucas Moore head to the Generals for the rest of the season.
Brantford Bulldogs receive:
Ben Danford
Zackary Sandhu
Oshawa General receive:
Aiden O'Donnell
Lucas Moore
Draft Picks
One has to imagine that the Brantford Bulldogs are the team that Danford will finish up his OHL career with before heading to the professional game.
There are some who believe his NHL ceiling is going to be a fifth or sixth defenseman, although there is no telling what his potential is.
The Leafs will be keeping tabs on him throughout the season, and we're sure he will continue to develop at a rapid pace.
We wish the defenseman the best of luck with his new team and teammates.
