The Boston Bruins are the Toronto Maple Leafs' biggest rival, and after a horrible season, the team seems to be having a bit of an identity crisis.
Toronto Maple Leafs fans were feeling pretty good about themselves last season, especially as the Boston Bruins were having their worst season in years.
Some Bruins fans feel as though the team is directionless and that it will take years to get out of their current rut, even with players like
David Pastrnak and goalies like
Jeremy Swayman.
Throughout the offseason, the Bruins have not made a ton of moves, although it seems like that is finally going to change.
According to reporter James Murphy, the Bruins are starting to prepare themselves for a move, and it seems like Pavel Zacha and Joonas Korpisalo are the two most obvious trade targets.
Trade rumors continue to surround the Boston Bruins, with Joonas Korpisalo and Pavel Zacha's names consistently coming up
Whether or not the Bruins trade these players anytime soon, still remains to be seen at this point.
However, if one thing is for certain, it is that the Maple Leafs will be well ahead of the Bruins for years to come if something doesn't change anytime soon.
Meanwhile, the Leafs should probably contemplate making a move here, as guys like Pavel Zacha could make a significant impact on the team.
Only time will tell what happens next, and if general manager Brad Treliving will officially decide to pick up the phone.
