West Coast Team Threatens to Offer Sheet Matthew Knies

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies is likely to receive a contract extension very soon; however, there is one team that could be thinking about an offer sheet.
Matthew Knies is a young forward that the Toronto Maple Leafs do not want to lose. He had 58 points in his sophomore season with 29 goals, and he has shown himself to be a natural goal-scorer.
This summer, he is a restricted free agent, and if the Leafs do not sign him to an extension by July 1st, any team can swoop in and sign him to an offer sheet.
While Knies has explicitly stated that he will not sign an offer sheet, there is still a risk that he might go back on his word and give in to the vultures.
Seattle Kraken could make a play for Matthew Knies
Of course, the best option available for an offer sheet would be none other than Knies, who is going to be a star in this league for years to come.
The Kraken did not have a good season, and an injection of offense would certainly do this team some good. However, it's doubtful that Knies would sign an offer sheet with them.
He has made it clear that he wants to be a Leaf, and it would be better for everyone if the Leafs just took his word for it.
Moving forward, it is going to be very interesting to see what happens with Knies, the Leafs, and the rest of the league as July 1st rolls around.
There is no doubt that this is going to be a special year, and the Leafs have to show that they are managing their assets properly.
