NHL Insider Reveals the Best Fit for Mitch Marner in Free Agency

Mitch Marner has a major decision to make in the coming weeks, and fans are very curious to see how it all plays out for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

For the most part, fans believe that the Leafs will be on the wrong end of this decision. The common thought right now is that the superstar winger will test free agency and go somewhere new for a fresh start.

However, there are still about three weeks to go before free agency, which means there is still a lot of time for Marner to think things over and make his decision.

In the midst of all of this, insiders and analysts have been giving their takes on where Mitch Marner will go, and whether or not there are any frontrunners.

The conventional wisdom states that the Las Vegas Golden Knights, Los Angeles Kings, and Florida Panthers are the likeliest to acquire Marner. However, Jeff Marek of 'The Sheet' says otherwise.

During his latest show, he made the comment that the Carolina Hurricanes are actually the best option here. Marek firmly believes they make the most sense for Marner.

In terms of cap space, need, and anonymity of the location, the Carolina Hurricanes are certainly a good place to be. However, Marner already said no to a trade to Carolina.

With that in mind, it is hard to imagine Marner choosing Raleigh over the aforementioned cities, which are in better overall situations.

The superstar winger can be hard to read, so there really is no telling where he decides to go. However, he will be the biggest story of the summer.

Only time will tell whether or not he can overcome the adversity and detach himself from a franchise he has spent a decade with.
