Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander watched his team play a terrible Game 7 against the Florida Panthers, but he is still staying positive about it.
William Nylander is in Italy today for the NHL's European Media Tour, and as you can imagine, he is being asked some very difficult questions.
Willy explained that he and Marner have always been good, and that the decision to leave Toronto was never a premeditated one. Instead, they will always be friends.

In addition to the
Mitch Marner questions, William Nylander was also asked about the Maple Leafs' playoff exit to the Florida Panthers.
Nylander noted that games five and seven were especially painful, but he is keeping it positive. Instead of getting into the negatives, Nylander noted that this was his best season as a Leaf.
It was probably one of our best seasons since I've been in Toronto I mean, we pushed Florida to the limit. We had a couple of (bad) games against them, Games 5 and 7, but for the most part we were right there in that series. So I think we can really build off that and learn from what we did wrong to be better in those situations.
William Nylander had 45 goals last season, and there is no doubt that he is primed for a sensational season with the Maple Leafs.
Overall, the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to have a difficult time matching their performance from last season, especially without Mitch Marner.
But if Nylander continues to raise his game, then there is a realistic chance that the Leafs come through and have a phenomenal season.
It's not going to be easy, but they have the players, and they seem to have the willpower.
