Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander will be participating in the 4 Nations Face-Off where he will go up against teammates Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner.
William Nylander, Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and Jani Hakanpaa are the four Maple Leafs players going to the 4 Nations Face-Off.
Although Hakanpaa is still up in the air, it has been guaranteed that the other three will play for Team Sweden, Team USA, and Team Canada, respectively.
William Nylander set to represent Team Sweden
Canada, Sweden, and the United States are the two teams that are favored to win it all, although you never know with Finland.
If one thing is for certain, there will be a lot of friendly competition amongst the Leafs players. The media even asked Nylander if the players were taking bets yet.
Instead, Nylander gave a hilarious answer claiming he may just start a fight with his captain, Auston Matthews.
"No, not yet. But I was telling Matty [Auston Matthews] that we might drop the gloves."
The 4 Nations Face-Off is going to be a fascinating tournament, even if there are some people out there who are especially skeptical about its merits.
It is a tournament that is going to bring a lot of eyes and attention to the sport and it will also help create some nice rivalries on the international stage.
The winner of the tournament is completely unpredictable and that is exactly why fans should care right now.
