Florida Panthers Destroy the Stanley Cup Just Hours After Winning It

Last night was huge for the Florida Panthers, who won their second-straight Stanley Cup after defeating the Edmonton Oilers in what a chippy championship series.
The Florida Panthers have officially entered dynasty mode as they won their second-straight Stanley Cup on Tuesday night. Once again, it was the Edmonton Oilers whom they defeated in the Finals.
For those who were on the team last season, this was a truly epic accomplishment. However, for guys like Brad Marchand, who joined the team at the trade deadline, it was a validation of their decision-making.
Ultimately, the Panthers proved to the world that hockey does belong in South Florida and that the fans do care about this team.
Florida Panthers win the Stanley Cup
Unfortunately, in just a few short hours with the Cup, the Florida Panthers have already left it damaged and desecrated.
In new images shared on social media, you can see cracks on the bottom of the Stanley Cup. There was also another photo going around of a crack on the edge of the actual Cup.
After winning the trophy just last year, you would think the Panthers have just a little bit more respect for the greatest trophy in all of sports.
There will be plenty more celebrations with the Stanley Cup over the coming days and weeks. In fact, we imagine the championship parade will take place later this week.
Not to mention, the Cup will be going to numerous nightclubs throughout the next few weeks. If you are a player on the Panthers, you are going to have some fun.
The Stanley Cup Finals were a bit anticlimactic, but the Panthers would prefer it that way as their ultimate goal was to win with the least amount of drama possible.
Hopefully, the Panthers treat the Cup with just a bit more respect over the next bit. We don't want to see any more issues with the Cup, going forward.
