New York Rangers Officially Trade Chris Kreider

After a poor season, the New York Rangers are making some big changes, including a Chris Kreider trade that has sent the forward to the West Coast of the NHL.
A bombshell trade has been made in the NHL this morning as the New York Rangers are officially trading Chris Kreider to the Anaheim Ducks.
According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, Kreider is going to the Ducks alongside a mid-round pick. In return, the Rangers will get Carey Terrance and a mid-round pick as well.
Things between the New York Rangers and Chris Kreider were seemingly growing distant as last season was not what anyone expected for the Rangers.
The team was supposed to be a Stanley Cup contender, but instead, they didn't even make the playoffs. Not to mention, defenseman Jacob Trouba was traded. Ironically, to the Anaheim Ducks as well.
Kreider did not have a great season, all things considered. 22 goals and eight assists in 68 games is not what you would expect for a player of his caliber.
In fact, during an 82-game campaign last season, Kreider had 39 goals and 75 points. This is a steep drop-off, so it makes sense that the Rangers would want to move on.
Toronto Maple Leafs wanted Chris Kreider
At this year's trade deadline, Chris Kreider was actually someone that the Toronto Maple Leafs were thinking about kicking tires on.
Furthermore, he was seen as yet another offseason target for the team as his discontent with the Rangers grew more and more apparent.
However, this trade was not to be for the Leafs. Instead, Kreider now gets to play with Trouba on a team that is looking to get back into the postseason.
Whether or not the Ducks can accomplish that goal next season, still remains to be seen. For now, we're a bit skeptical.
