Alex Nylander makes his critics look silly following Toronto Marlies masterclass

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Alex Nylander was recently sent down to the Marlies, and on Saturday, he has a phenomenal game against the Bakersfield Condors.
Nylander was not a very effective player with the Toronto Maple Leafs and it is ultimately why the team put him on waivers as soon as their injured players began coming back.

However, so far this season, Alex Nylander has been great with the Toronto Marlies, and that was certainly the case Saturday against Bakersfield.
The brother of William Nylander finished the game with a hat trick, and an extra two assists for a total of five points.
What makes this performance so impressive is the fact that the Marlies were actually down 5-1 in the game and mounted a late-game comeback.
Nylander's second goal of the game is what tied it up at 5-5, and in overtime, Nylander was able to secure the winning goal.
Despite this performance, it does seem very unlikely that we are going to see him back with the Toronto Maple Leafs, anytime soon.
The only way Alex Nylander gets the promotion is if we see a few Maple Leafs players go down with injuries.
Either way, we're sure that performances like this one in the AHL will give him some confidence.
Moreover, it will allow him to continue developing his game so that he doesn't get stuck down there forever.
After such a bad performance against the Detroit Red Wings last night, the team could certainly use this version of Alex Nylander.
