Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube is preparing his team for the NHL playoffs and with the Ottawa Senators coming up, the Leafs are in tough.
On Sunday, the Toronto Maple Leafs are starting their playoff journey against the Ottawa Senators and it is going to be a series for the ages.
These two teams have a long-standing rivalry and the Battle of Ontario is always a good time. They haven't played each other in the postseason since 2004.
All-time, the Leafs have a 4-0 record against the Senators in the playoffs which certainly bodes well. However, every year resets, and past results don't guarantee future ones.

Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube understands this and he is doing everything he can to make sure the team is ready for the big time.
According to reports, the head coach scheduled a team meeting today in which the prepared for the Senators. However, tomorrow, the real work is going to begin.
The Maple Leafs held an optional skate and team meetings Friday morning as part of their preparation for the Senators. They'll regroup Saturday for a full practice, with a stronger focus on reviewing Ottawa ahead of Game 1. A clearer picture of the lineup is expected to emerge then.

The Leafs are a team that needs to have some success in the playoffs this season. They have underachieved for so long and the fans are sick of it.
However, the team had an amazing end to the season and that could very well propel them to a few series wins coming up. The Senators would be first and then one of the Florida teams next.
Overall, it is going to be fascinating to watch play out. There is a lot of optimism around this team and there should be. This could be the year.
Of course, this is perhaps being a bit too optimistic. But you never know. Just look at the Edmonton Oilers last season...The Leafs have a similar infrastructure.
