While speaking to reporters, Craig Berube was asked which player on the team surprised him the most this season.
As it turns out, the answer was
Matthew Knies. In eyes of Berube, he never could have expected what the forward has turned into after a full season on the top line.
«How he's grown as a player and what he's accomplished this year-I'm not sure I pictured that. So, he's been a special surprise.»
The NHL Playoffs are set to begin on Sunday and of course, fans are going to be curious to see how Matthew Knies performs now that the pressure is on.
He was amazing in the regular season but now he must do it in the postseason as the Leafs look to shake off their curses of the past.
Sunday, the playoffs will begin when the Leafs take on their Ontario rivals, the Ottawa Senators. It is going to be an epic series and we can't wait for it to begin.
Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs can live up to their hype and the expectations of a division champion.
