Toronto Maple Leafs forward Dakota Joshua used to be coached by Craig Berube with the St. Louis Blues, and it proved to be an interesting experience.
Most recently, he played under Rick Tocchet with the Vancouver Canucks. However, before that, he played under Craig Berube with the St. Louis Blues.
Now, Joshua has been reunited with Berube, and in a recent report from the
Toronto Star, he got to talk about his experience in St. Louis.
Dakota Joshua speaks on his experience with Craig Berube
He even said that Tocchet was a great coach, and that he has learned a tremendous amount from all of his coaches and mentors.
(Both Berube and Tocchet) like a hard-working, north-south game, which is my type of game. And so (Tocchet) was also a tremendous help in letting my career take off after getting started with Chief. Chief, he's very professional and he's a straight shooter. He lets you know where you stand and wants you to go out there and get the job done. He expects a lot out of his players, which I like. He was a tremendous help in getting my career started and evolving into the player I am today.
The expectations for Joshua won't be very high going into the season. He only had seven goals and 14 points last season.
In previous campaigns, he proved that he could get close to 20 goals, and the Leafs would love it if he could get back to that kind of production.
It is not going to be an easy road for the forward, and we are looking forward to seeing how he manages the stress of playing in Toronto.
If Joshua has a big year, then Leafs fans are immediately going to love him.
